I have a weakness for goat cheese, so as soon as I heard about Harley Farms Goat Dairy in Pescadero (and their award-winning goat cheese), I added the farm to our “must-visit” list. After our visit this past week, I’m glad we did… and we’ll definitely be going back!
During this trip, we simply walked around the grounds and shopped for cheese in the excellent shop, but it gave us a flavor of the farm and left a taste, wishing for more. Next visit, we’ll make reservations for the “Goat Tour”. This time, I was afraid the tour wouldn’t hold the attention of my son, but after being there, and seeing the tour was filled with kids younger than my son, all of whom seemed engaged and interested, I’ve changed my mind. I think he’d enjoy it. A description of the tour from the website…. “Visitors take a two-hour, hands-on tour, following the milk from goat to dairy, from curd to cheese. Tours begin at our goat nursery barn just a field away from the dairy, where you may also picnic later.
