After spending the last two months recovering from a calf injury, I jumped back into trail running Saturday with an awesome trail run in Yosemite Valley. It was the perfect run to get me back on the trail, and it felt amazing. I was afraid to try anything too hilly, so I chose the section of the North Valley Trail between Yosemite Village and Mirror Lake, which is about five miles out and back. It’s a relatively quiet section of the park (I only saw three other people on the trail), rolling through the forest with occasional stunning views of Yosemite Valley. Heaven!

I’m not a runner, but I think with that beauty I might be inspired enough to move! 🙂

I just kept going, wondering what amazing view would be around the next corner. At Mirror Lake, I found my guys, who’d ridden their bikes there. 🙂

Same here! This was my first time running in Yosemite. I had an hour to get out while my husband went for a bike ride with our son. The run was perfect!

I bet you were just itching go back out. Two months is a pretty long time to be away from something you enjoy.

I was! It’s been two months without running (except a couple outings for very short distances). It’s been even longer since I’ve been on a trail run. 🙂
