    1. I thought I responded to this! This park is quite serene, and, yes, in winter, has a bit of the mystical Irish feel to it. I love it here.

I can’t remember going to Dublin Hills…how far is it from downtown SF?

It’s about a 50 minute drive from downtown SF. Are you familiar with the Pleasanton / Dublin area in the East Bay? Dublin Hills Regional Park is on the west end of Dublin (Castro Valley side). Plus the park is extremely new…. it’s only been in existence for 2 or 3 years now. Before that it was private ranch land.

It is a peaceful, lovely place, and, yes, especially after being sick for a few weeks, it felt sooo wonderful to get out for a hike in the fresh air!

Trails look like a few cows went by. But the trees and hills are beautiful. Happy New Year.

About a mile of the three mile loop was gunky, slippery, sink-into mud. But it felt wonderful to get out for a hike between all the rains we’ve been having. Can’t complain! I can walk to the trailhead right from our home…
