Our Favorite Camping Treat: Nutella S’mores!
It’s always frustrated me a bit that when making s’mores while out camping, the chocolate just doesn’t melt. I know how to roast a perfect marshmallow, melted completely in the middle, wonderfully gooey and creamy, with a nice, light brown shell. But the chocolate has always been an issue. Now, don’t get me wrong. ChocolateContinue reading “Our Favorite Camping Treat: Nutella S’mores!”
Climbing Wall: Val Vista Park, Pleasanton
Kids love to climb! The climbing wall at Val Vista Park in Pleasanton is one of the best free outdoor structures in the region. For others in the San Francisco East Bay, along the 680 corridor… Outdoor Climbing Walls.
Curves: Wave Workshop, Bay Area Discovery Museum
Photos from the Wave Workshop at the Bay Area Discovery Museum in Sausalito. My son loves this exhibit. Kids can create boats from the foam geometric shapes, turn on the fan (wind), and find out how their boats perform on the water. My son will refine and tweak his boat over and over in anContinue reading “Curves: Wave Workshop, Bay Area Discovery Museum”
Squirrel: On the Screen Door
I keep moving our bird feeder around our backyard, trying to find a location where the squirrels cannot attack it from. I’m failing. I’ve moved it so the squirrels cannot jump from the fence, but now they simply climb the backyard screen door and leap from there. As you can see, the brave little critterContinue reading “Squirrel: On the Screen Door”

Camping: San Mateo Memorial Park
OK, I have to admit, I absolutely love camping and hiking in the redwoods. There’s something about those trees… so huge, ancient, beautiful, peaceful. Squirrels: Waiting
These two are such a nuisance. Now they’ve taken to sitting on the fence, one on each wall, watching me, waiting patiently for me to leave. I’m sure the second I’m away from the window, they’ll attack the bird feeder. Looks as if I may have to try one or two of these “Tips forContinue reading “Squirrels: Waiting”
