I was excited when I saw them!

After a winter of snow this year, I didn’t see a flower like this – rather, any flowers and colours were buried under the white. This is stunning – and such a super colour. it was your good luck to see it and photograph it. Lovely!

I saw many of these in Yosemite, mostly along the side of the roads. At this time, they seem to be right at the 6,000 foot elevation. They’re beautiful, how the red stands out so brightly.
