Got to say, I am impressed with your approach.
“Finger paints” reminded me of a book. Have you read Dibs in Search of Self? A book about a child who blossomed through the experience of play therapy.

I had not heard of the book, but I just looked at the description on Amazon. Fascinating. I strongly believe in free play, and we do a lot of it around here!

It comes as highly recommended to anyone working with children and play, with a wonderful insight into human nature. It is an awesome book.
